How to evaluate the electronic products by EPEAT? What do the colours mean?

EPEAT(Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool) is an on-line tool helping institutional purchasers select and compare IT
products based on their environmental attributes. It is a worldwide standard,
used by global companies, governments and consumers to “green” their electronics
purchasing. User can find information through www.epeat.net.
EPEAT rates products based on 51 environmental performance criteria (23 required,
28 optional) that address all facets of the products lifecycle, including:
toxics reduction, recycled content and recycle-ability, product longevity, endof-
life management, energy efficiency, packaging and corporate responsibility.Products are rated Bronze, Silver or Gold according to the number of optional
criteria they meet above the baseline of criteria.
Gold indicates the product compliance to all required criteria and 75% optional.
Silver indicates the product compliance to all required criteria and 50% optional.
Bronze indicates the product compliance to all required criteria.
