What is RED (Radio Equipment Directive)?

Antenna radio telescope

Start from Jun 13, 2017, RED is enforced to replace R&TTE (Radio and Telecommunications
Terminal Equipment Directive). All radio equipment must meet the
technical requirements of the RED before sale to the European Union (EU) market.
The new RED includes televisions and radio receivers, equipment operating
below 9 kHz, radio-determination equipment, and other radio equipment under
R&TTE with some exempted product types.
All tests must be carried out by notified body or accredited laboratory. The NB
number only applied when there is full quality assurance. In most case, the
marking is same as CE mark.
