Why is there a new mark “UKCA” instead of “CE”? Does having a “UKCA” mark guarantee the safety of the product?

25/04/2022

Start from Jan 1, 2022, it needs a new UKCA marking for goods market in Great
Britain (England, Wales and Scotland). It covers most goods which previously
required the CE marking. Radio equipment falls into this requirement. The British Standards Institute (BSI) sets standards in response to legislation
and that includes safety standards. The BSI can issue certificate for certain
products that carry the Kite Marks. By placing the BS details or the Kite Mark on
products, the manufacturer is warranting that the product meets those standards.
The mark does not mean that a product is safe, it means it is designed
to meet safety standards.
